Jojoba Oil
Simmondsia chinensis
Organic Jojoba Oil “the miracle oil” is probably the longest lasting all natural oil. Jojoba oil comes from the beans of the shrub like plant, simmondsia chinensis, it is actually a liquid plant wax. It is rich in Vitamin E, contains protein, minerals, plant wax and myristic acid which is anti-inflammatory, so this could be a good base oil for treating rheumatism and arthritis.
It is not a nut base oil and will not turn rancid like other oils as it has antioxidant properties. Known as the "skin's twin" because it is very similar in structure to our skin's natural sebum, Jojoba is excellent for all skin types. It is healing for inflamed skins, psoriasis, eczema, any sort of dermatitis. Can help control acne and oily skin or scalp since excess sebum actually dissolves in jojoba oil.
Because Jojoba oil resists oxidation, it does not become unstable. It even seems to survive the least appropriate storage conditions without being damaged. It will solidify if refrigerated, but will
re-liquify when returned to room temperature.
May be used as a base or a 10% dilution. Jojoba oil can be added to other carrier oils in order to extend shelf lives.
