This oil has a lower pulegone content than the pulegium variety. It has a less pungent aroma

Principle Uses: In the food flavor trade, and in some older type perfumes.

Properties: Powerful antispasmodic and decongestant if the vapours are inhaled for respiratory tract problems.  Inhalation of the vapours combined with gentle massage, may help relieve menstrual pain.

In massage for muscular spasm and rheumatic pain, headaches, nervous disturbances.

Safe uses: There is no sound evidence that this oil is an abortifacient as is widely believed.
